The Hightower Lowdowns for March and April 2007 list major corporations that gave over $100,000 to 2006 elections with more than 65% going to one party. Need I say that most of the money went to the GOP? Here's a list of the supporters of the Democrats:
Agribusiness: 4 out of 20. Plum Creek Hollow Farm, Flo-Sun, Connell, and Florida Sugar Cane
Banking/insurance/finance: 4 out of 21. Bank of New York, City National Bank, Advance America, and Business Loan Express.
Business associations: 0 out of 13.
Chemical companies: 0 out of 12.
Communications/electronics: 5 out of 14. Time Warner, Viacom, QUALCOMM, Discovery Communications, and Working Assets.
Computers/Internet: 3 out of 12. Prologic, Achievement Technologies, Progency Systems
Consumer products: 0 out of 25.
Construction: 1 out of 13. Tishman Realty & Construction
Defense: 0 out of 21. [Halliburton ranks 4th for Rs behind BAE Systems, Flour, and Bechtel.]
Energy/natural resources: 0 out of 8
Entertainment: 6 out of 17. Hyatt, four Indian gaming organizations, and the National Basketball Association.
Food and beverage companies: 4 out of 20. Gallo, Southern and Astrale wineries and Charmer Sunbelt Group.
Health Services/Pharmaceuticals: 1 out of 18. Kaiser Permanente.
Restaurants: 1 out of 11. T.G.I. Fridays
Retail stores: 3 out of 13. Costco, The Gap, and Barnes & Noble.

I'd love to see us start a list here of local businesses that treat Democrats right.
